So a couple of weeks ago, me and the bestie went to Ribfest in Council Bluffs. The first night my sister joined us and we saw Uncle Kracker. Good show, had a great time, drank too much. The next night was my all-time favorite (all because of you Ricky dear) Travis Tritt. His daughter opened for him and let me just say that I was very impressed with her voice and performance. She was pretty awesome and you could tell she was having a great time. I like it when performers are actually having a good time performing. Some seem to take themselves way too seriously. Anyway, on to the main event. My dude comes out for his set and about the 3rd song in was "Anymore ". That one makes me cry in the car, made me cry live for sure from the very front of the stage. I stayed close for awhile then went back to the seats to join the bestie. Well she proceeds to go to the bar to get us a refill and I continue chatting with the loner guy next to us that came by himself because his sister gave him tickets at the last minute. He was from Chicago and seemed pretty nice. Bestie was doing her best to play matchmaker all night. She's funny like that. Anyway, I continue to enjoy the show and realize that she has been gone way too long and so I go to look for her. I don't have to go to far and I find her, Kiki Reese (Travis Tritt's wife) and his daughter all standing there crying. I'm like what in the f is going on. I said she told you my story didn't she and they hugged me and now we are all crying. We chatted for a while and they were truly so nice and down to earth. It was pretty amazing. Back to our seats we go to finish watching the awesome show. Did I mention that I love him? Head to the bathroom after the show. Bestie strikes again. Now she is sending me under the rope to the performer area with some other adventurous woman to see if we can possibly meet Mr. Tritt. Who do I run into but his wife and daughter again. She explains that she is not allowed to be in charge of who gets to meet him because she is too soft. She cracks me up. We shared a couple more tears and another hug and now she is my friend on Facebook. I sent her a couple of pictures of me and the big guy.

Memorial Day
This year on Memorial Day, I decided to take a walk up to the cemetary. I usually tend to stay away from there on holidays. I don't like taking the chance of running into the bad people.
I don't know what to say for myself
Maybe I should rename this blog to The Bipolar Chronicles. I do not know what gets into to me sometimes. I met a really close friend of mine at the CWS and we did a little day drinking (that turned into evening drinking) and out of nowhere I decide that I wanted to go and visit my friend Kim 3 hrs away. I borrowed my friends car and drove to Kansas....at 9:30 at night. Needless to say I did end up having a really good weekend. It seems like the only time I enjoy life these days is when I am doing something completely off the wall.

Weekend Off
I took the weekend off. Not in the literal sense. I still had to go to work. Mentally though I was completely and totally free. No anxiety. No worries. Everything is going to be alright.
Well it's Monday. Back to reality. Reality sucks.
I wish I could relive Friday night every night for about a month.
I have been describing it as 7th grade fun. Two of my favorite people (and also two of the realest people I know(at least to me anyway)) and me. Acting like kids and staying out all night. No pressure, no worries, nobody having to put on an act. Throwing caution to the wind. Mindless FUN. The kind you have when you and the people you are with just honestly enjoy spending time together for no other reason than you enjoy each others company. If only everyone could be that way.
The only problem with having moments like this is that when you get back to the real world, its suckiness is that much more apparent.

Dreams and nightmares
Had a dream tonight that woke me up at 1:38 am. It was an awful dream where the man that I love was with another woman and he lied to me. I dreamed that I ran into him in a bar and he said we were back together and then I followed him outside and he was getting into a car with the girl that I had been talking to all night in my dream. I was asking the girl why she lied to me, I don't even remember what she lied about. I turned to say something to him and it freaked me out so bad that it woke me up. After waking up I realized he was really gone and never coming back. I just started crying, not just a few tears either. Full on, gut-wrenching crying. I think the reality of him not being here was so real at that moment that it was just too much. You would think that after over two years that I would have some sense of peace but I fear I have a long, long way to go. I don't understand the dream either. He was one of the most honest and loyal people I have ever known.

Had a much needed break from reality. One day road trip to Des Moines, IA. Went to watch Pro Bull Riding. That was fun. Stopped and got something to eat at a place called Buzzard Billy's. For some reason that my cousin and I still haven't figured out, they cut our bill in half. The only thing I remember even being wrong was they forgot to bring our nachos out before our food. Thank you Buzzard Billy's.
Sunday Funday ensued. We stopped at an outdoor Irish pub that was literally a tent set up in the middle of downtown. We met 3 guys who seemed very nice and had a few drinks with them. Found out one of them was a cocaine dealer from Davenport. Really?, how do I find these people. From there we checked out a couple of other places but they were mostly more restaurant type places that we didn't even bother to order a drink at. Then we found a really interesting place almost by accident. I don't even recall seeing a sign with the name of the place on it. Several people were standing on the staircase smoking their cigarettes. The staircase led down to basically a basement with just a small bar in the corner of a small room. I quickly grew to love this place. The people were very friendly and an interesting mix of characters. I had a great time talking and laughing. They were awesome. There was this 7 ft. tall guy who reminded me very much of an old friend and who immediately came and talked with us. He sat with us the majority of the night and introduced us to just about everybody who came through the door. I could not tell you one of these people's name but they were great and treated us like old friends.
Went back to the hotel around 11:30, had a piece of pizza and went to bed. The next morning we got up and went down to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. They had a small but wonderful buffet. Our waiter was from India and was a complete character. He would just come up out of the blue and tell a random story and run off. He was hilarious. He brought us a berry smoothie shot with a "rumour" of vodka in it. Not a "scandal" just a "rumor". Subbu you are the man! After breakfast we just packed up and headed home. Not bad for a 24 hr. vacation.
